LUIS RECUENCO GANA EL XI RALLYE TT DE CUENCA.

LUIS RECUENCO WINS THE 11TH CUENCA TT RALLY.

Luis Recuenco and David Oliveras have won the XI Rallye de Cuenca with the Toyota Hilux Overdrive. Recuenco and Oliveras excelled over the 400-kilometer route through the Serranía conquense, where they achieved an magnificent time of 5:54:44:0.

Federico Mogni and David Nieto finished in second place, with their Polaris RZR Pro, taking 10 minutes and 22 seconds more than the winner of the race.

And the third spot on the podium went to the duo of Juan Gasso and Ion del Cid, with the G-Rally Team OT3, 16 minutes and 58 seconds behind the first-place finisher.

Santiago Carnicer and Miguel Lázaro were fourth, also with a Toyota Hilux Overdrive; and Carlos Vento and Pedro López were fifth, with a Polaris RZR Pro.

Immediately after getting out of the Toyota Hilux, the winner of the race stated that, “the race was very beautiful, it was very well marked, and offered a great variety of terrain and many changes of pace,” said Recuenco.

The Cuenca native driver also highlighted that, “as the terrain was very dry, we were sliding almost all the time, with little traction and little grip, so we had to exert ourselves and work very hard,” Recuenco assessed.

In the same vein, almost all the participating drivers in Cuenca pointed out that, “it was a super beautiful race, it was Cuenca in its purest state,” where the dust and the sun in front highlighted the skill of the teams in jumps and winding sections.

The drivers also described the forest area as tough, with a lot of rocks and very technical, qualities highly valued by off-road athletes, as well as the trial sections and fast tracks.
